Please be informed that the term of office of our National Officers for the Fiscal Year 2011-2012 ends on 30 June 2012 as per the 2009 UAP By-laws and the election of National Officers for the Fiscal Year 2012-2013 is scheduled on 20 April 2012 Fridayto be held as one of the functions in the 38th UAP National Convention.
As empowered by our By-laws, the Committee on Nominations welcomes nominations for UAP Elective National Positions for the Fiscal Year 2012-2013
Please be reminded of the nomination process:
1. Nomination by Members
Any qualified member in good standing of UAP may be endorsed by Chapter Resolution together with his/her bio-data to the Committee on Nominations, which has full power to accept or reject such proposal.
2. Submission of Documents
The following documents should be submitted to the Committee on Nominations Deadline: TUESDAY, MARCH 6, 2012 at 5:00 P.M.

These documents and requirements together with the attached Nomination Form should be forwarded to the Committee on Nominations or its assigned personnel at the UAP National Headquarters No. 53 Scout Rallos Street, Diliman, Quezon City on or before TUESDAY , MARCH 6, 2012 at 5:00 P.M.
General Qualifications for National Elective Office
Article V, Section 3 of the 2009 UAP By-laws states that:
QUALIFICATIONS
No member shall be elected as National Officers, except the ex-officio members, and or Regional District Directors unless he/she satisfied the following requirements.
1. Qualifications for National Officers. A candidate for National Officer shall satisfy all the following requirements:
a. Must be an active regular member in good standing of the UAP from a regular Chapter in good standing;
b. Must have been in active practice for at least ten (10) years prior to nomination;
c. Must have been an officer of a Chapter or must have served as a member of the National Board of Directors;
d. Must have been qualified by the National Committee on Nominations;
e. Must have demonstrated his/her dedication to the profession in general and to the UAP in particular;
f. Must possess managerial capability, varied training and expertise necessary to accomplish the requirements of the position;
For the position of National President a candidate must have served as member of the National Executive Committee (either as National Executive Vice President or Area Vice Presidents, or Secretary General, or National Treasurer or National Auditor);
For the position of Area Vice President, a candidate must have served either as Secretary General or National Treasurer or National Auditor;
For the position of Secretary General, National Treasurer or National Auditor, a candidate must have served either as a Regional District Director or as a Chapter president and a Fellow or as an Executive Director of a commission of the national organization;
g. Must possess good moral character and must have adhered to the Architect’s National Code,
Code of Ethical Conduct and Standards of Professional Practice.
2. Qualifications for Regional District Directors. A candidate for Regional District Director shall satisfy all the following requirements:
a. Regular membership in continuous good standing in a regular Chapter for at least five (5) years prior to nomination;
b. At least five (5) consecutive years of practice of the profession prior to the nomination;
c. Service of at least three (3) years as an officer of a Chapter in good standing and a Chapter President or a Fellow;
d. Good moral character and adherence to the Code of Ethical Conduct and Standards of Professional Practice; and
e. Qualified by the National Committee on Nominations.
For the position of Area Vice Presidents, pursuant to General Assembly Resolution 10-11 No. 2 as passed and approved during the 37th UAP National Convention, resolved that “pursuant to Article VII, Sections 5 and 6, in connection with Article VI, Section 3(1)(a), of the New UAP By-laws, that in the event that no candidate in a particular Area meets the qualifications for an Area Vice President under Article V, Section 3(f)(ii), nominations of members who at least meet the qualifications under Article V, Section 3(f)(iii) shall be deemed as fully qualified to be voted for, and to assume, such position”.
